Robotic Cow Milking Systems

The Challenge

Robotic cow-milking systems require onboard solenoid-valve manifolds to precisely control the pulsation of each teat by applying and releasing vacuum in a defined sequence, while simultaneously directing the milk to the downstream processing stages. The pulsation manifold (pulsator) is mounted directly in the harsh barn environment—exposed to moisture, debris, chemicals, and constant mechanical stress—and therefore must deliver absolute reliability, fast response times, and long-term durability with zero tolerance for failure

Our Solution

We developed a customized four-station pulsation manifold engineered with the required ingress protection and materials to withstand harsh milking facility conditions. The manifold is powered by our long-life GEM-SOL solenoids, enabling fast, reliable pulsation control and significantly extending the mean time between failures, even under continuous operation.
